There are many diferent things about how alcohol affects you health, most motably in a depresant way.
In the brain, alcohol affects the chemistry by altering the levels of neurotransmitters (chemichal messengers that transmit signals through the body) and also increases the release of dopamine in our brain’s “Reward Center” with a pleasurable feeling, that´s how alcohol tricks you into thinking that is actually making you feel good and keeps you drinking more and more.
In the body, alcohol affects the liver (causing cirrhosis), the blood pressure, the heart rate and also increases the risk of cancer.
And with all of that, you really think that alcohol causes only fun?.
Don´t you think that you are risking to much just to have a good time?.
The recovery of drinking habits is not easy, in fact is a gradual, slow and hard process.
The first step in a succesfully recovery is to acknowledge the ambivalence about drinking (the costs and benefits).
Now let me give you 3 elementary advices to help you stop drinking:
1. Get the rid out of temptation.
2.Learn from your past mistakes.
3.Avoid bad influences.
The rest depends on you!
OBESITY
ReplyDeleteObesity is a condition that has often been stigmatized because of the perception that it is caused mostly by the modifiable behavioral factors of diet and physical inactivity.
The link between obesity and risk for several types of cancer is now well established by more than a decade of scientific research.
Overall, whereas the mechanisms underlying the obesity-carcinogenesis relationship are not fully understood, sufficient evidence exists to support recommendations that adults and children maintain reasonable weight for their height and ages for multiple health benefits, including decreasing their risk of cancer.
Obesity is a concern because of its implications for the health of an individual as it increases the risk of many diseases and health conditions including: -
Coronary heart disease Type 2 diabetes. Cancers (endometrial, breast, and colon). Hypertension (high blood pressure). Dyslipidemia (for example, high total cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides)Stroke.
Liver and Gallbladder disease and respiratory problems. Osteoarthritis (a degeneration of cartilage and its underlying bone within a joint) and Gynaecological problems (abnormal menses, infertility).
Mexico has experienced one of the fastest increases in the prevalence of excess weight and comorbidities. The increase has occurred in all age groups and in both rural and urban areas of the country. Obesity is now recognised as a public health problem. Although in the past considered almost exclusively a problem of developed countries, obesity incidence has experienced an abrupt increase in developing countries.
OPINION
Obesity is a problem that day by day is taking too much importance in the society.
Because instead of a fat accumulation, it brings other diseases that put your life in a really big risk, people with obesity are people that don´t take care about their physical condition enough, so when they start having this problem, their lifes turn sad because they are not allowed any more to junk food, candies, carbohydrates and all that stuff.
So make conscience about what you are eating and how you are doing it.

DeleteOBESITY
ReplyDeleteObesity is one of the biggest global problems in the last year is defined like an abnormal or excessive fat accumulation. The World Health Organization determinates in 2005 that 1.6 billion at the age of 15+ were overweight and at least 20 million children at the age of 1+ were overweight. The experts told that if this problem continues increase on 2015, the consequence will be at 2.3 billion adults overweight. At least 700 million will be obese. This problem of obesity has a lot of serious consequences like: diabetes, cancer, hypertension, osteoarthritis, coronary heart disease and a lot of other consequences but this condition can cause the premature death and substantial disability, like the cardiovascular disease that is the world´s number of death, killing 17 million people in each year and diabetes that now become a global epidemic in 10 years the deaths will increase 50%. Also we have the economic consequences ;one of them are direct problems that it´s associated with the medical treatment; and the second it´s an indirect problem which it´s relate to loss productivity , restricted activity, bed days and the premature death. To know if a person has overweight and obesity we use the body mass index (BMI). To calculate this we use a person´s weight in kilograms and we divided by the square of the height in meters, we can use this with the both sexes and all the ages. The BMI classified in four groups: Between 25-29.9 is overweight, at 30 or higher is obese, at 18.5 or below is underweight and between 18.5-24.9 is a healthy weight. The overweight or obesity at the age of 5 to 14 years is associated with a higher chance of premature death and disability in adulthood. And other method of estimating body fat or body fat distribution that include: measurements of skinfold thickness, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and others.
In conclusion I think that overweight or obesity is a dangerous problem for adults but more for children because it has a lot of consequences like the premature death or diabetes. So I think that the World Health Organization should promote campaigns or conferences to help all the people to have a good nutrition and help with specialist for each person that have this problem to prevent these consequences.

Well we're talking about obesity in Mexico but also in USA, so the third link is a global one.
So obesity is having too much body fat, what is different of having overweight, obesity is to have more calories than the one your body needs, it it's different about each person so it depends on your fiscally activity and your genes.
This sickness give you as a consequence another worst sickness.
In the link who talk about Mexico, give you the example of Ubaldo who's a poor child that's dying because of the alimentation he's getting and also because he also suffer of sleep apnea, but her mother doesn't want to see that and to accept it, until he has in a really bad fiscal form.
And the third one is about USA, it mention that is a really big problem, it has doubled his rates in all ages, and that in childhood is harder to get like that because all the energy that they have, but it's a little bit justified because of the fast food they have that is the most common thing.
In my opinion, obesity is a really hard problem, but it could be prevent with a little bit of effort, just having a balance in food and getting some minutes of sport, and also is important to make public this information, because sometimes you don't want to accept it, thing that make the problem bigger.
And don't get confused about overweight, that is about bones, skin, and all the things of the body; with obesity that is the number of grease in the body.
Well , I'm agree with you , we can reduce the obesity if all of us make a little effort , having a balance diet and doing exercise , something that you mention in you comment is that the obesity have consequences and one of those are a lot of diseases like diabetes or cardiovascular problems , something that we need to know to have a healthy life , and finally we need to stop the increase of this kind of problems all around the world , especially in the child community something that in my opinion it's important to make an emphasis .

ReplyDeleteObesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Both terms mean that a person's weight is greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height.
ReplyDeletePeople with body mas index of 30 or high are considered obese. The term "obesity" is used to describe the health conditions of anyone significantly above his or her ideal healthy weight. Don't be discouraged by term. It's simply means you are 20% or more above your ideal weight, and you are not alone
Obesity is increasing around the world. High body mass index now ranks with major global health problems such as childhood and maternal under-nutrition, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, unsafe sex, iron deficiency, smoking, alcohol and unsafe water in total global burden of disease.

This is a very interesting topic, but it is also very bad due to the fact that it creates a lot of diseases. For example, another harmful thing is cholesterol, this covers the veins of the body and this leads to a great damage. This is also bad in the activity of sports, because it not allows to fulfill this activities, this leads to a poor agility and also to a drawdown in doing exercise, fiscally and mentally. It also causes a drop in the activities that requires a lot of fiscal effort

LINK 2: Refer to how you get obese firstable what´s the meaning of obesity and then how people get obese and some of those facts are that they are sedentary and also consume too much calories and low rates of smoking. LINK 3: Refer that obesity is becoming a global pandemic and that 25% of children are obeses now and that know a days we are having a big problem, in a nutshell, this theme is becoming very important because the human life is changing to bad. OPINION: Obesity now is a difficult problem in humans, because we don´t take care of us we prefer to eat what we want, but I think also there are many people that actually don´t has time or the economic support to have a healthier life and that’s a big problem too.
On the first page it gives me a great interpretation of the real meaning of "alcoholism". Reading this article I could understand why so many people have drinking problems; parents play a very important place here, cause if they live with alcoholism is very probable that heir sons would grow up with that problem.
ReplyDeleteOpinion: I think this article is perfect, it explains good the meaning of alcoholism in a very simple way. I consider that if people read this they would change their own definition about alcoholism, cause most of people don't know the real reasons of why people start drinking in a exaggerated way.
The second article explains how you an help an alcoholic person. Some people have the wrong idea that you can't help an alcoholic. The review try to change that opinion saying that is difficult but not impossible.
Alcoholic people would do anything so that they can continue drinking, even they would try to manipulate you. The article is like a manual with all the rules you have to follow in order to help your friend, a family member, etc. that has the problem.
Opinion: I totally agree with the article cause the information that is presented here are the recommendations you should do if you know someone with alcoholic problems. Personally I agree with their first step, "Take care of yourself and then take care of the alcoholic" is real true, you don't know until what point they would arrive just to continue drinking.
The third link is a video which objective is to make you understand the impact of alcoholism in the brain, the damage, in order to stop the increase of alcoholic drinks. Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is the key of why we are affected by alcohol, which is the relationship with the total body water. Alcohol affects directly to the brain, it interferes with the communication between nerves cells, and that's why we experiment changes in emotions, judgement, balance, memory, speech and anger levels.
Opinion: The video is really complete with good information, I already knew all the damage that the alcohol does to the brain, but the video makes me think, if people know the damage that alcohol makes to the most important part of their body that would be enough so that they can stop drinking?

Obesity
In the articles, I read that most premature deaths in Europe and North America are due to problems of obesity, and this is more common in men, the percentage of diseases and deaths due to this problem is more evident in men than in women, this does not exclude the possibility of illness or death in women. Obesity combined with cigarette addiction may increase the risk of illness and death.Doctors say the condition of obesity has increased in recent years, also mentioned that the risk of death is higher than in people addicted to smoking. One of the reasons for obesity is high caloric intake and that people do little exercise, this also affects children because of their lack of nutritional education. Obesity can also be related to cancer, experts have pledged to fight obesity.
My opinion:
In recent years, unfortunately, global obesity has increased considerably and with it increased risk of disease and death. Obesity affects adults and children. Physical inactivity is a very important aspect, is one of the main causes of obesity, should be encouraged motivation to exercise and nutritional education must increase. Teaching children good eating habits from a young age can reduce this disease. It is important to take into account changes in our body and if so, to see a specialist is very necessary, health should be one of our highest priorities, we must motivate us to eat well and do more exercise. Today there are many activities that help our health, we must also use the technology favorably, there are even applications that help us to have a balanced diet, drink more water and exercise.

- Then, like Frida said, don't let temptation wins and take on count your past mistakes to avoid doing it again.

-What is obesity-
Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated body fat and in consecuence has a high Body Mas Index. Having a high Body Mass Index is not only for fat, because a fitness person could have it, but its muscle. There are many causes for a obesity disease, the most common is of course consuming too much calories, because now on day the food companies make their products with too many fat, sugars or any other dangerous ingredients for a healthy life, and of course when we are hungry, we choose most of times these foods because they are easy too find.
Obesity is most commonly presented in people with many chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer. In some cases is presented in the lower rates of a previous adiction . Obesity is now dramatically increasing, particularly in urban settings, because of the scrap food, and electronics
Leading a sedentary lifestyle is another way to gain body fat, because the less you move around the fewer calories you burn. Now on days this is becoming a normal lifestyle, because of the computers, videogames and electronics.
. For having a healthiest weight, everyone needs a goal and positive reasons to achieve that goal. Even losing a few pounds can provide you cardiovascular benefits, so every step in the right direction is a step toward a better and healthier life. Considering these reasons to work toward will provide you in some few months a healthy weight.
Opinion:
Obesity is more common now on days.
The people who lives in urban settings is of course more fat than the ones in the rural settings because here in the urban settings we have many commodities that the rural people don´t.
When your weight is healthy , your body of course works more efficiently in all ways, the most important is that circulates blood better, and your fluid levels will be better and more easily managed.
Because of the sugars you dicrease in your blood, you are going less likely to develop diabetes, heart diseases, certain cancers and sleep apnea..
Now on days is easy to have a sedentary life, and if you just eat in a healthy way, its ok, but some days you also have to do physical activities

Alcoholism is a desease that involves problems controlling your drinking, craving, physical an pshycological dependence and tolerance.
Alcohol affect your health and body; In your brain, alcohol interfires with it´s communication pathways; It can also affect the way your heart works and the level of your blood pressure; In the liver and pancreas it can produce inflamations and it can also generate different types of cancer in the mouth, esophagus, throat, liver and breast.
In my opinion, alcoholism nowadays is a very popular problem because it is not so hard getting alcohol, even if you are underage, it is common that in some social reunions, alcohol is serve to the people in order to have fun and relax, but there are people who depends on it, generating personal and familiar problems which can be threated by special programs that wake the alcoholic's concience to have a normal and happy life.

Obesity
Obesity is a condition that is associated with having an excess of body fat. It's classified of having a body mass index of 30 or greater, it should include other circumstances like muscle mass, bone density and total of fat mass.
Related conditions: heart diseases, strokes, diabetes, High blood pressure and certain types of cancer.
Higher rates of obesity: African Americans 47.8%, Hispanics 42.5%, Caucasians 32.6% and Asians 10.5%.
Causes:
•Much of the weight gain comes from bad eating habits in emerging economies, places where incomes are rising and junk food is more available.
•Social conditions such as loneliness and isolation.
•Lack of discipline and excess.
There's a surgery that can help the people that suffers this condition to be less hungry.
Mexico is the largest consumer of soft drinks in the world.
Nowadays Mexico is the most obese country in the world.
33% of Mexican adults are obese.
Opinion: I think obesity has become a global problem that concerns to all of us, because it shows a social problem: our consuming culture. For example, I've seen investigations that show that if a kid was born in a family that is overweight or even obese, the kid learns their eating habits, and as a result he is more prone to be obese. The solution to this problem should be changing our habits, and creating awareness of this problem.

"Santa's Diet" (Obesity and Overweight)
When people talk about "overweight", it means to a person with an unhealthy weight for they. IBM is used to diagnose obesity
This disease is a consecuence of a lot of factors, such as environment, genetic, metabolism, behavior or habits.
It's more common on children with ages 10 to 11. There are plenty of risks for being an obese person. Some of they are diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, breathlessness, several types of cance and in pregnant women, it can be deathly to the baby and even to the mother.
It can also afect a person psychologically and can cause low self esteeme.
The best way to lose weight and avoiding this disease is having healthy foods everyday and working out. Also, an obese person can have Psychological help with a professional.
Opinion:
I think this disease is more alarming now than it was a couple of years ago. There is a incfredible increase of obesity, and we should start doing something to fight against it, and help future generations to avoid it.
It doesn't only causes diseases as Diabetes, but let's remember that some people uses this as an object to bully obese people. As a consecuence of this, we can also talk about bulimia, beacuse it is caused by a low self esteem. As a personal experience, I can say that there’s nothing worst tan going everyday to school scared of being rejected by your own classmates, and sometimes inclusive by the teachers.
We should also teach kids that sometimes obesity is caused by OTHER diseases and it's not because of being neglected with alimentation or excersice such as hyperthyroidism or an hormonal disease, tis could be used a prevention from kids bullying another classmate or schoolmate

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health. Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excessive foodintake. Obesity is mostly preventable through a combination of social changes and personal choices. Changes to diet and exercising are the main treatments. Obesity is a leading preventable cause of death worldwide, with increasing rates in adults and children. Obesity is more common in women than men. Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories-in and calories-out differs for each person. Factors that might affect your weight include your genetic makeup, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active. Being obese increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers. If you are obese, losing even 5 to 10 percent of your weight can delay or prevent some of these diseases.
Opinion
In my personal opinión obesity , it’s a dangerous disease because it kills slowly and everyone is the cause, not care your diet. The obesity cause too much disease and it cause problems of health. Most people with obesity, is because they want to, because the excuses used to not eating well is money, time, availability, etc. Because food is what you seek is and more people choose to eat bad just because he likes it.

* obesity is a BMI greater than or equal to 30.
-For children under 5 years of age:
* overweight is weight-for-height greater than 2 standard deviations above WHO Child Growth Standards median; and
* obesity is weight-for-height greater than 3 standard deviations above the WHO Child Growth Standards median.
-Overweight and obesity are defined as follows for children aged between 5–19 years:
* overweight is BMI-for-age greater than 1 standard deviation above the WHO Growth Reference median; and
* obesity is greater than 2 standard deviations above the WHO Growth Reference median.
Being obese increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers. If you are obese, losing even 5 to 10 percent of your weight can delay or prevent some of these diseases. For example, that means losing 10 to 20 pounds if you weigh 200 pounds.
My opinion about obesity is that it is very important not to let us pass this, we need to keep ourselves and the people we know to reach that level, we need to help and help other people to care for our own health is better to be healthy not estarlos, learn to have good eating habits, can work costing us accustom ourselves but with patience and calm among everyone can achieve.

Alcohol is described as one of the most dangerous recreational drugs in the world. People influenced by alcohol have done things as awful as committing suicide and homicides. It is a fact that teenagers who drink alcoholic beverages are more likely to use drugs (like cannabis or cocaine). One thing that caught my attention is that alcohol-related traffic accidents caused 12,998 deaths and this are three times as much as the deaths caused in the Iraq War.
http://www.who.int/topics/alcohol_drinking/en/
Worldwide drinking alcoholic beverages is considered as a common way of socializing because in most of the parties or reunions alcohol is the main guest. Drinking alcoholic beverages has many risks because in excessive doses can cause intoxication or unconsciousness, causing a huge damage on your organism. If you constantly consume alcohol you can hurt yourself and people around you.

In this page the results appeared with statistics, of which I consider the important ones;
56.9% of people aged 18 or more, reported that they drank alcohol in the past month. In another investigation, in which girls and boys between 12-17 years participated, it showed that girls drank more than boys. This can be harmful for their health on long-term and especially if they started drinking when they were just little kids. Thanks to the immoderate consumption of alcoholic beverages , there have been more than 3.3 million deaths per year, being one of the leading causes of death in US .

Obesity is one of the most pervasive, chronic diseases in need of new strategies for medical treatment and prevention. Is generally caused by consuming more calories particularly those in fatty and sugary foods than you burn off through physical activity. The excess energy is stored by the body as fat.
Is a disease that affects more than one-third of the U.S. adult population (approximately 78.6 million Americans). The number of Americans with obesity has steadily increased since 1960, a trend that has slowed in recent years but shows no sign of reversing. Today, 69 percent of U.S. adults are categorized as being affected by obesity or having excess weight. According to the CDC, an estimated 112,000 excess deaths per year are associated with obesity. Obesity puts individuals at risk for more than 30 chronic health conditions. They include: type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, gallstones, heart disease, fatty liver disease, sleep apnea, GERD, stress incontinence, heart failure, degenerative joint disease, birth defects, miscarriages, asthma and other respiratory conditions, and numerous cancers. Some causes of obesity are: consume too many calories, leading a sedentary lifestyle and endocrine disruptors, such as some foods that interfere with lipid metabolism. The treatment od obesity is to eat a healthy, reduced-calorie diet and exercise regularly, eat a balanced, calorie-controlled diet as recommended by your GP or weight loss management health professional (such as a dietitian) and receive psychological support from a trained healthcare professional to help change the way you think about food and eating. There's no "quick fix" for obesity. Weight loss programs take time and commitment, and work best when fully completed. The healthcare professionals involved with your care should provide encouragement and advice about how to maintain the weight loss achieved.
In my opinion, obesity is a disease that affects the entire world because our lifestyle is not the correct. We should take care of our weight making exercise instead of see television on our houses, eat healthy rather that eating fast food. In our country we should change our bad habits and take a healthy lifestyle to reduce the rate of obesity worldwide.

"Obesity"
Obesity means having too much body fat, obesity is a medical condition in wich excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health. Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. People are generally considered obese when their body mass index, (a measurement obtained by dividing a person heigt)is over 30kg/m2 with the range 25-30kg/m2 defined as overweight. obesity increases the likelihood of various diseases, particulary heart disease, type 2 of diabetes, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excesive food intake, lack of physical activity, and genetic susceptibility. Obesity is preventable through , combination of social changes and personal choices, changes to diet and excercising and the main treatments, also there are several companies that help prevent obesity, like "Obesity Society".
Opinion:
In these time the problem of overweight is to have a lot of technology, such as computers, video games, TV. etc. if the calories that we consume, we spent, we would not have that problem, another thing that has been found in studies is that a child who is overweight is a teenager and obese adult, so it should start from the early years of life with learn good habits because later it is very difficult to change.

Alcohol use disorder
Alcohol use disorder is a pattern of alcohol use to involves problems controlling your drinking.

What are the symptoms of alcoholism?
The signs of alcoholism are:

• Feeling an urge to drink.
The alcoholism, in my opinion, is one of the worst problems in the society. Every day, one person make some bad under the influence of alcohol, problems with the family or the law. It’s not danger try alcohol, the bad thing is don’t to be consius at the time to drink with out control. That don’t resolves anything. But I can’t imagine what pushes them to drink. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat and body water, both terms mean that a person´s weight is greater that what´s considered healthy for his or her height. Obesity accord over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories in and calories out differs for each person, the factors that might affect your weight include your genetic make up, overeating, eating high-fat foods and not being physical active.
¿How can overweight and obesity be reduced?
Overweight and obesity, as well as their related non comunicable diseases, are largely preventable. Supportive environments and communities are fundamental in shaping people´s choices by making the choice of healthier foods and regular physical activity the easiest choice therefore preventing overweight and obesity.
My opinion about obesity is very bad because you cause many diseases, you get tired very fast when they did exercise, one of the reason eating junk food an not healthy, my recommendation is that we need to do any sport, drinking water and eating healthy.

Alcoholism is a disease that causes problems in life, however continues to drink, until the time where you may need more and more alcohol.
Experts believe that the disease is genetic or psychological also a lack of self-esteem.
Some of the most important symptoms in alcoholism are the number of servings that can be drinking, also can not stop drinking, craving to drink and stop doing important work activities or to drink.
Treatment for alcoholism may be based on a support group if the problem is psychological as it is a self-help group that offers emotional support. It is based about 12 steps program.
Some possible complications from alcohol abuse can damage neurons, heart damage, erectile dysfunction, malnutrition, liver disease, etc.
Finally prevention is that women should not take more than a clover day drink a day and the knights more than two drinks a day this is supported by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

Obesity and overweight
Since we were born, weight has been really important in our development. There are different heights and builds, so the doctor needs to check that you have a healthy weight. Nowadays being overweight is more common than being underweight. Worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980 despite it is preventable.
The cause of obesity and overweight is an energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended.
The most common health consequences of overweight and obesity are cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders, some cancers and it can affect your life expectancy.
Many people can also develop psychological problems because of being overweight or obese.
I think we should educate students and parents about all the health risks that obesity involves, the importance of eating healthfully and exercising in order to get a healthy lifestyle because obesity it's a major health problem that affects almost all of the people.
Obesity and overweight are serious health problems that can affect not only our weight and health, but also our lifestyle. We try to avoid this problem by blaming others or by trying not to see the situation and the consequences, but this unhealthy lifestyle seriously needs to end. This condition disrupts the balance we all require and that we must have, so we have to work in order to overcome it.

Obesity is one of the most pervasive, chronic diseases in need of new strategies for medical treatment and prevention.
Obesity is defined as excess adipose tissue. There are several different methods for determining excess adipose (fat) tissue; the most common being the Body Mass Index (BMI). A fat cell is an endocrine cell and adipose tissue is an endocrine organ. Significantly, excess adiposity or obesity causes increased levels of circulating fatty acids and inflammation. This can lead to insulin resistance, which in turn can lead to type 2 diabetes.
To reverse the obesity epidemic, community efforts should focus on supporting healthy eating and active living in a variety of settings. Learn about different efforts that can be used in early childhood care, hospitals , schools , and food service venues.
The key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight isn't short-term dietary changes; it's about a lifestyle that includes healthy eating and regular physical activity. BMI and waist circumference are two screening tools to estimate weight status and potential disease risk.
In my opinion to have the correct weight with respect to BMI it is necessary to do moderate exercise (depending on your age, weight and height). Also people have to make an effort to eat healthy. Parents need to teach their children not to eat junk food and do some sport.

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health.
Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excessive food intake, lack of physical activity. A few cases are caused primarily by genes, endocrines, medications, or mental illness.
Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health. Body mass index (BMI) is a simple index of weight-for-height that is commonly used to classify overweight and obesity in adults.

The cause of alcoholism is still unknown.
Alcohol dependence develops when drinking while chemical changes in the brain. These changes increase the pleasurable sensations you get when you drink alcohol, causing the desire to drink more often.
Symptoms of alcoholism in a person with alcohol disorders are: drinking alone, more violent and angry, neglecting personal hygiene, neglect their work, unable to stop drinking, and excuses to continue taking legal, social and economic problems.
The treatment of alcohol varies by the problem of each person.

OBESITY
Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health. The term 'obese' describes a person who's very overweight, with a lot of body fat. It's a common problem in the UK that's estimated to affect around one in every four adults and around one in every five children aged 10 to 11. Obesity is one of the most pervasive, chronic diseases in need of new strategies for medical treatment and prevention.
It causes mortality, morbidity, disability, healthcare utilization and healthcare costs, the high prevalence of obesity continues to strain the United States healthcare system. People can become obese for many different reasons. Lets look at some of the most common ones:
1) Consuming too many calories.
2) Leading a sedentary lifestyle
3) Not sleeping enough
4) Endocrine disruptors, such as some foods that interfere with lipid metabolism.
5) Lower rates of smoking (smoking suppresses appetite)
6) Medications that make patients put on weight
7) Obesity gene
It's very important to take steps to tackle obesity because, as well as causing obvious physical changes, it can lead to a number of serious and potentially life-threatening conditions. The best way to treat obesity is to eat a healthy, reduced-calorie diet and exercise regularly.
OPINION: My view on this issue is that obesity is a disease that has affected most of the children and who have not taken sufficient measures to treat this disease. There are many causes that cause it and unfortunately we do usually without considering the risks that could cause us or diseases that could cause us.

The fundamental cause of obesity and overweight is an imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended.
If you are obese or overweight, you have an increased risk of developing various health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases, cancers, asthma and more.
Most of the world's population lives in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight.
OPINION
In my opinion, this disease is one of the most important things we need to worry about. Nowadays obesity is the principal cause of death around the world, so we need to do something to change this. I think family is quite responsible for the bad diet and habits of children, because it allows them to eat whatever they want and start having a sedentary lifestyle. So it’s important that family and also teachers implement activities for the kids in order to make them interested in doing exercise and having a healthy diet, so that they can make new habits. Although obesity can be caused by a genetic thing, I think habits have an important role in this. If we do that, we will be able to decrease and prevent this disease.

ALCOHOLISM
An alcoholic is a man or woman who has a physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it.
Alcoholics are obsessed with alcohol and cannot control how much they consume, so this is the cause of serious problems at home, work, and financially.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that there are 140 million alcoholics in the world; unfortunately, the majority of them are not treated because they don´t want it.
Some signs and symptoms of alcoholism are:
Drinking alone.
Drinking in secret.
Not being able to limit how much alcohol is consumed.
Not being able to remember chunks of time.
Feeling an urge to drink.
Feeling irritable when drinking times approach.
Requiring a larger quantity of alcohol to feel its effect.
Nausea, sweating, or even shaking when not drinking.
This symptoms makes that people start to have alcohol dependence, that is a gradual process which can take from a few years to several decades to become a problem.
This problem can affect the relations of the alcoholic with the people who loves him/her; but they can avoid it with help and understanding that they really have an alcoholic problem.
I think that alcohol may change the people , but if they are responsible, and see about the problems that came with it, they can establish some limits between they and it, so this can make easier their lives and avoid a lot of problems that can bring them to ruin.

If you smoke, the people who are around of you would be able to be affected by your smoke and get many other problems. Quitting smoking can reduce your risk of health problems. The earlier you quit, the greater the benefit.
The second article have some definitions of the different ways that you could be affected a person who smoke or who is near of smoked people
*Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S., causing over 438,000 deaths per year.
*Secondhand smoke is a serious health hazard for people of all ages, causing more than 41,000 deaths each year.
*Marijuana smoke contains many of the same toxins, irritants and carcinogens as tobacco smoke.
*Electronic cigarettes are a new tobacco product, and the potential health consequences and safety of these products are unknown.
*Smokeless Tobacco products are a known cause of cancer, and are not a safe alternative to cigarettes.
*Cigars have many of the same health risks as cigarettes, including causing certain cancers.
The last article is a page that have diferent parts, but i selected one that is called “Benefits of Quitting”, it explain some benefits,i choosed just the most important in my opinión:
Smoking is the leading cause of heart attacks and heart disease. But many of these heart risks can be reversed simply by quitting smoking. Quitting can lower your blood pressure and heart rate almost immediately. Your risk of a heart attack declines with in 24 hours.
Quitting smoking can re-wire your brain and help break the cycle of addiction. The large number of nicotine receptors in your brain will return to normal levels after about a month of being quit.
In my opinión these articles have important information about the topic, because some pages has a lot of ideas about it, but read all of this information could be too hard, so i liked this web links beacuse just say the most important things.
For the other hand, I am agree about the benefits of quitting, but thing the really thing that you need to stop smoking should love yourself.

Alcoholism
An alcoholic is a man or a woman who suffers from alcoholism, they have a distinct physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it, regardless of all rules of common sense. Who say they have no unique definition for alcoholism, it may be described as a physical compulsion, together with a mental obsession. Apart from having an enormous craving for alcohol, an alcoholic often yields to that craving at the worst possible times. The alcoholic knows neither when nor how to stop drinking. An alcoholic is a person, while alcoholism is the illness. An alcoholic suffers from alcoholism. Alcoholism is a long-term chronic disease. Alcoholics are obsessed with alcohol and cannot control how much they consume, even if it is causing serious problems at home, work, and financially. Alcohol abuse generally refers to people who do not display the characteristics of alcoholism, but still have a problem with it, they are not as dependent on alcohol as an alcoholic is, they have not yet completely lost their control over its consumption. The signs of alcoholism and alcohol abuse are very similar, and are often just a question of degree or intensity. Typically, the last person to be aware that he or she has a serious drinking problem is the alcoholic himself or herself, they are in denial. In my opinion alcoholism is a desease causing very serious biopsychosocial damages. Therefore, it is necessary that family physicians through their constant work prevent its appareance among our young people, who should be warned against the purchasing of alcoholic beverages of doubtful origin, a situation that should be appropiately managed. It is very important to work with the young to attain healthy life styles.

Obesity
Obesity means having too much body fat and it affects people of all ages. It occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. Being obese increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers, but they can also have low self-esteem.
Obesity in children is an increasing problem in the United States that affects about 35% of the adult population, but Mexico ranks second in the world.
In Mexico City, about 40% of the children are overweight or obese. The increasing number of overweight and obese Mexican children is likely related to an increase in urban living, an influx of US-style snacks and marketing and a more sedentary lifestyle. Purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables have dropped nearly 30% and purchases of sugary beverages increased almost 40% in Mexico. There is a case about a boy named Ubaldo who weighted 169 pounds, he was morbily obese and suffered from a lot of diseases. When the doctors saw him, they thought he was going to die. But a year later, after a lot of treatments, Ubaldo dropped to 157 pounds.
Mexico's Congress passed legislation in 2010 aimed at decreasing the amount of junk foos sold in Mexican schools.
To help someone, express your real concern if you have a close relationship, but avoid coming across as condescending or judgmental. If you sense discomfort or anger during the conversation, take a pause. Be patient. Be a friend, not a weight-loss coach.
In my opinion, we have to take obesity as a huge problem because a lot of children and adults die because no one helps them. We have to create organizations or groups of help to make some awareness about the problem.
I agree with you opinion because obesity is a huge problem that has heartbroken to Mexico since 70% of Mexican adults are overweight or obese.
DeleteIs a public health problem that can cost up to 12.500 billion dollars by 2017.
But, despite all the negative Mexico has taken good steps in the fight against obesity during this and previous governments, but there is still much ground to cover
Obesity
ReplyDeleteOverweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health.
If a person's bodyweight is at least 20% higher he or she is considered obese. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 25 and 29.9 you are considered overweight. If your BMI is 30 or over you are considered obese.
If you want to lose weight, you need to take a healthy diet and do physical activities just like sports or going to the gym to burn some calories. You can also take a weight loss surgery and prescription medication.
In my opinion, obesity is a problem that occurs in all the world but in Mexico its one of the most common problems. If people wants to lose obesity, first of all they need to care about the health. There is people that doesn´t even care about his health and eats a lot of junk food. The government should start a movement about health care and make people concious about it if we want to fight against obesity. The key to be health its to have a good diet and to activities instead of eating tacos and sit down to do nothing.

DeleteI agree with your opinion because the facts and terms that you use about obesity are completely true, they are comprobated by scientifics. Is also true that you have to be concerned about the importance of your health and to follow a balanced diet and exercise at least 30 min per day to be and feel healthy.
I also agree that the government need to put in action programs to motivate and make people conscious about their health and weight.
I think that this problem should concerned all the society because is a health problem and many people that have this problem don't accept it, just like alcoholic people don't accept they are alcoholic. I think that the steps that are written here to have a healthier life are regarding the right weight are very important to follow them to have a healthy and happy life.

I agree with your opinion because the society doesn't provide enough attention to this problem since it can cause different diseases.

Obesity
ReplyDeleteIt is said that people with body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more are considered obese.
The term is used to know the state of health of any person.
The body mass index (BMI) is a statistical measure derived from height and weight. BMI measurement can sometimes be misleading - a muscular may have a high BMI but have much less fat than a person whose BMI is not inferior. However, the BMI measurement can be a useful indicator for the "average person".
Nearly 70% of American adults are overweight or obese. Being obese puts you at greater risk of health problems such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes and more.
Statistics: Nearly 13 million (16.9%) of American children between 2 and 19 are obese.
Almost one in three (31.8%) children in the United States (23.9 million) of between 2 and 19 are overweight or obese.
More than a third (about 35%) of US adults are obese (more than 78 million adults)
healthy range: Your body circulates in the blood more efficiently, the fluid levels are easily administered.
They are also less likely to develop diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers, and sleep apnea.
Obesity is defined as excess body fat.
The body is composed of water, fat, protein, carbohydrates and various vitamins and minerals. If you have too much fat - especially around your waist - you're at higher risk of health problems, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
Being obese can: raise blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels, increase blood pressure, induce diabetes.
Obesity increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. But more than the system harms the heart and blood vessels. It is also a major cause of gallstones, osteoarthritis and respiratory problems.
Every adult should have their BMI calculated at least once a year. The American Heart Association offers an online calculator BMI for adults. Patients with a BMI of 30 or more are considered obese and need treatment.
Factors why people become obese
1) Consuming too many calories.
2) Leading a sedentary lifestyle
3) Not sleeping enough
4) Endocrine disruptors, some foods: such as lipid metabolism With That interfere.
5) Lower rates of smoking (smoking Suppresses appetite)
6) Medications That Make Patients put on weight
7) Obesity gene
Opinion:
It is a problem as parents or authorities that they don´t take into account that these people suffer from a disease. They eat this food because is faster and cheaper; as large restaurant chains, frozen food microwaved list, instant meals, drinks with large amounts of sugar, etc. It is also because they have a sedentary life, the same genes of the person, etc. We need to avoid premature diseases, changing eating habits and maintain a more active lifestyle to prevent obesity.

First is the one about teh substance abuse, it is a pattern of harmful use. The bused is using more than what´s prescribed.

+Health issues
+Disabilities
+Failure to meet responsabilities

There is also the danger of illegal drugs, because. illegal drugs do more than just alter your mood. They distor your judment and other things, all of them can put you in really high danger and not ust you, but the people arround you is in danger.
The second text shows that are apparently no exactly causes that can tell us why we become alcoholic, it coul be genes, the environment, the low self-esteem, etc.
It also can be the situation you´re living.
For example, if you´re a young adult under peer pressure, having mental illness like depression, bipolar or anxiety didorders or live a stressful lifestyle.
The symptoms may include try to cut drinking and not be able to, spend a lot of time trying to get some alcohol, drinking s lot and missing school or work the day after, stop taking part in activities you used to enjoy, etc.
Now, many people with a serious troubles like alcoholism has to fully quit drinking.
This laps is call the abstinence, is usually a Little bit more easy to count with the support of your family and friends, your closest circules.
There are some people who are capable of just cut back in their drinking, but ther ar so many others that cannot.
Is really common that you may not recognize that your drinking problem has gotten out of hand.
It´s another kind of help, for having best chances to success, they recomend you to live with other pople who are dealing with the same as you, this way you all feel connected an in armony because you´ll know what the other is going trough and it will happen the same with the other person to you. That is a good idea of treatments.
And with respect to the last page the server cannot find it.
I think that drinking is not bad, but becomes a really big problem when you get addicted to it, because you can´t think clearly and that creates a chances of hurting the ones you love and even yourself, you can´t put your life in danger. Life is too beautiful to be wasted.

Repeatedly neglecting their responsibilities at home, work or school because of your drinking.
Alcohol use in situations where it is physically dangerous
Repeatedly neglecting their responsibilities at home, work or school because of your drinking.
Knowing this you will be able to understand alcoholism and abuse it. Alcoholism and alcohol abuse are due to many interconnected factors, including genetics, how they were raised, their social environment and their emotional health.
The second web link is that it is alcohol addiction, is the inability to control how much a person drinks. For some, alcohol addiction can develop, in part as compulsive drinking behavior
He also talks about how to approach an addict and how to help with therapies and whatnot. Before approaching your loved one, consider how they may be feeling and how they will receive their support
The third web link is how people can stop drinking. between 8 and 9 percent of adults in the United States have some type of problem with alcohol. And many of these people wonder what happens when trying to stop drinking
OPINION: try to be aware if you are abusing of alcohol, this is not a good choice. you can change this through exercise, friends and family.

Alcoholism is when the person has a distinct physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it. Some alcoholics persons say that alcoholism is a phisycal compulsión with a mental obsession and they don't know how to stop drinking. Some signs and symptoms of alcoholism include: drinking alone or in secret, not being able to lmit how much alcohol is consumed, losing interest of hobbies and activities the person used to enjoy, feeling an urge to drink, nausea sweating or shaking. Alcohol dependance is a gradual process which can take from a few years to become a problem, with some vulnerable people addiction can come in questions of months. Over time, alcohol consuption can disrupt the balance of the brain chemical GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) which controls impulsiveness, also the glutamar which stimulates the nervous system, it also produce stress, anxiety and depresssion.
In my opinión if someone wants to try alcohol it's ok, but there are limits and it doesn't mean that you can drink more tan you can, simply because it only causes problems and not only to you, also the people care about you. It can be difficult to get out of that problem, but wit only want to change you will succeed.

An alcoholic is a person who is obsessed with alcohol and cannot control how much they consume, even if it is causing serious problems at home, work and financially.
Is a disease that causes:
• Craving: a strong need to drink
• Lose of control: not being able to stop drinking once you have started
• Physical dependence: withdrawal symptoms.
Too much alcohol is dangerous. Heavy drinking can increase the risk of certain cancers. It can cause damage to the liver, brain and other organs.Drinking during pregnancy can harm the baby.
Alcohol abuse generally refers to people who do not display the characteristics of alcoholism, but still have a problem with it- they ayre not as dependen ton alcohol as an alcoholic is; they have not yet completely lost their control over its consumption.
Alcohol dependence is a gradual process which can take from a few years to several decades to become a problem, with some vulnerable people addiction can come in a question of months.
The World Health Organization says there are at least 140 million alcoholics in the world, unfortunately, the majority of them are not treated.
The treatment for alcoholism can begin only when the alcoholic accept that the problem exists and agrees to stop drinking. Also treatment may include medicine, counseling and support groups. The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence.Among alcoholics with otherwise good health ,social support and motivation, the likehood of recovery is good.
In my opinion the alcoholic people need to understand that they are not okay and become an alcoholic person is not the solution of they problems.

Alcoholism
Nowadays people consume large amounts of alcohol, particularly in younger consumers between the ages of 14 to 20 years old, it has been increasing considerably. However these persons will not know the damage the are causing to their bodies until they grow older. In this essay I will talk about the symptoms, complications and treatments for alcoholism.
Cirrhosis, a common disease that can be caused by a wide range of conditions such as chronic alcohol abuse, chronic hepatitis and fat accumulating in the liver that can damage the liver and lead to cirrhosis.
But alcoholism not only affects the liver but also the cerebellum, medulla, hypothalamus and pituitary and cerebral cortex.
The most common complications are high blood pressure in the veins that supply the liver, swelling in the legs and abdomen, bone disease and increased risk of liver cancer.
Nevertheless all these complications can be eradicated if people start a treatment which consists in 7 steps that will help the patient to stop drinking.
People should start thinking about their health care more because if this situation continues in the future children will have access to all the bad habits that exist just because alcoholism will be considered ‘normal’ and it will be a pathological society.

Alcolism:
Alcoholism is a serious problem, that it can be uncontrollable, desire to drink. This problem can affect in your health, and life, including work and family. It can be a mental problem
The sings of alcoholism are:
Being often intoxicated
Being tired
Dependence of the alcohol
In the USA approximately 17 million adults 18 and older had an alcoholism problem; this includes
5.7 million Women
There are options that can help and save people from this problem, the options are that you can go to communities that work at help you so you can forget it or be in control for your alcoholism addiction
There are two types of alcoholism; alcohol abuse, and alcohol dependency.
The alcohol dependency is the common alcoholism; instead alcohol abuse increases the risk of having a dependence on alcohol
Drinking too much can affect your judgment and control of things.
A single drink is classified as a 12 oz. beer, a 5 oz. glass of wine, or 1 1/2 oz. of liquor.
Also depends if it´s a woman or a man
My opinion is that it´s okay to drink but as everybody says, with moderation, because you´re affecting your health, your life and the life of ones that you care about it. And if you already have the problem , it’s the best ask for help, so you can repair all before it could be late

Topic: Alcohol Use Disorder (Alcoholism)
Approximately 7.2 percent or 17 million adults in the United States ages 18 and older had an AUD in 2012. This includes 11.2 million men and 5.7 million women. Adolescents can be diagnosed with an AUD as well, and in 2012, an estimated 855,000 adolescents ages 12–17 had an Alcohol use disorder.
According to Alcoholics Anonymous UK, who say they have no unique definition for alcoholism, it may be described as a physical compulsion, together with a mental obsession. The alcoholic knows neither when nor how to stop drinking.
The drinking may cause problems at home, work, or school. It may cause you to put yourself in dangerous situations, or lead to legal or social problems. However severe the problem may seem, most people with an alcohol use disorder can benefit from treatment. Unfortunately, only of a fraction of people who could benefit from treatment receive help. In 2012, for example, 1.4 million adults received treatment for an AUD at a specialized facility (8.4 percent of adults in need). This included 416,000 women (7.3 percent of women in need) and 1.0 million men (8.9 percent of men in need).
Another common problem is binge drinking. It is drinking about five or more drinks in two hours for men. For women, it is about four or more drinks in two hours. Binge drinking has become a growing problem in many countries, Sipping wine, beer or spirits three to four times per week increases the risk of binge drinking, particularly among young men, according to a study carried out by researchers from the Université de Montréal.
In my opinion it is not bad drinking the probolem comes when you doesn't have a good self-control it may get you in trouble in the near future, because your start doing it like currently and just for fun but then you will need to have some drinks to be satisfied.
So i think you need to have a strong self-control.

“Obesity and overweight”
Food problems are very normal in all countries and that food will always be something basic and which is very predisposed to having faults, but one of the things that alert to all countries and which always measures are taken protection and monitoring are overweight than the population of a country could contain, for various situations, among which are the lack of information about proper diet, or poor monitoring health systems will provide to the population.
One of the countries with the highest rate of overweight people is the United States, although in the same country campaigns are made and informs the population on this subject, it seems that efforts are in vain because the population of the country continues to carry an unhealthy diet and because mainly things that are consumed are processed or easily accessible as are fast foods where you can get a very fast food at a very low cost, sacrificing their health and giving them many health problems.
This problem will only be eradicated when the governments of the countries made better campaigns, to guide the people to a healthier diet where they be aware of the risks of having an unhealthy diet and health problems that generate them eventually if they continue having that bad diet.
My opinion on the subject is that the problems of obesity and overweight are a subject to take into account because it is something of great concern to health officials and possibly have a solution if governments implement more ways the population could have a healthier diet and could become more aware of health problems that may have.

Alcoholism
The term alcoholism means the abuse of the alcohol or drinking.
Since dawn of civilization the fermenting of alcohol have been doing.
The problem starts because the effect produce good sensations but in the same time destructs the body and the mind.
Chronic alcoholism is a progressive, potentially fatal disease, characterized by an incessant craving for, increased tolerance of, physical dependence upon, and loss of control over drinking alcohol.
There are two main types of alcoholism; alcohol abuse, and alcohol dependency.
Alcohol abuse is when a person drink inmoderate alcohol but is some times
Alcohol dependency is when a person can`t live without the effect of alcohol.
Moderate drinking allows 2 drinks daily for men and 1 daily for a woman.
Heavy drinking can put your health and relationships with others at risk, and also cause you to use poor judgment resulting in negative consequences.
In my opinion drink alcohol is healthy when you drink moderate an controling your self.(Like wine)
When people starts feeling the effect and they like the effect there starts the problem.
Because is very damangin for health

Alcohol Use in the United States:
In 2014, 87.6 percent of people ages 18 or older reported that they drank alcohol at some point in their lifetime; 71.0 percent reported that they drank in the past year; 56.9 percent reported that they drank in the past month.
Also said the alcohol related deaths ir said y hay nearly 88,000 people die from alcohol related cause annually.
Finally thalks abolir the consequences, some are:
About 1 in 4 college students report academic consequences from drinking, including missing class, falling behind in class, doing poorly on exams or papers, and receiving lower grades overall.
1,825 college students between the ages of 18 and 24 die from alcohol-related unintentional injuries, including motor-vehicle crashes.
Second link
In 2005, annual global alcohol consumption reached 6.13 liters per person over 15 years old.
Europeans drink more than the inhabitants of any other continent on the planet. In 2005, they consumed 12.18 pure liters of alcohol per capita, compared to the 8.67 liters per capita consumed in the Americas, 6.23 liters in southwestern Asia, and 6.15 liters in Africa.
Americans aged 15 and up drink only three-quarters as much alcohol as Europeans, but are far more likely to be involved in fatal alcohol-related accidents or die from other alcohol-related causes. There’s no single reason Americans are less responsible with alcohol, but some speculate that a higher legal drinking age in the U.S. leads to more destructive underage drinking habits. Another explanation: Far more Europeans take public transportation home from the bar.
Women who drink rival men in amount of alcohol consumed, and trail men only slightly in incidents of binge drinking. But far more women than men abstain from alcohol altogether: 55 percent of women on Earth have never had a drink, compared with only 35 percent of men.
In every region of the world, nothing helps send men aged 15 to 59 to the grave more than alcohol does. Drinking contributes to 6.2 percent of global male deaths. Women are much less likely to die of an alcohol-related cause: only 1.1 percent of female deaths are fueled by alcohol.
Third link
In many parts of the world, drinking alcoholic beverages is a common feature of social gatherings. Nevertheless, the consumption of alcohol carries a risk of adverse health and social consequences related to its intoxicating, toxic and dependence-producing properties.
In addition to the chronic diseases that may develop in those who drink large amounts of alcohol over a number of years, alcohol use is also associated with an increased risk of acute health conditions, such as injuries, including from traffic accidents.

1rst link: People with a body mass index of 30 or higher are considered obese. The term “obesity” is used to describe the health condition of anyone significantly above his or her ideal healthy weight.Nearly 70% of American adults are either overweight or obese. Being obese puts you at a higher risk for health problems such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes and more. Being in your healthiest weight can help everyone in a lot of ways, the same as if you are overweight, it can be negative in a lot of possible ways.
2nd link: In this web link it mentions all the factors that makes people become obese, all the disadvantages of being in this condition, an explanation of whats is de Body Mass Index, the detailed commentary of why people in the United States is in this condition a lot of general factors that make this an international problem.
3rd link (video): I watched the video in parts because it last 51 minutes, but in this video are a lot of people talking about this desease, this problem that can take you to deadly consequences. A lot of doctors studying the case are the ones that explain all that you need to know about this and the witnesses confirm it by telling their stories.
General opinion: This obesity problem has become a very big problem that a lot of people suffer nowadays without knowing they are involved in it because of the normality of seeing in home someone fat, in the streets, in the malls, everywhere, and no one says anything against it because is in some ways a strong form to make money; its very normal to see in the streets for one salads place, twenty one hamburger places, pizza, tacos, etc. Here in Mexico the fast food has become in the last year a big problem, not like in the USA because here in Mexico, you can find restaurants that serves very good meals, very balanced and very tasty, also you can find the “historic” markets where the fruit and the vegetables looks amazing, where generally all the families goes to get their week food, and i say that it isn’t like in the USA because the only places that you can get “healthy” food is in the supermarkets and its very very expensive, it’s cheaper to buy a familiar pizza that buy the ingredients to make a basic lettuce salad.
Of course another factors like bad sleeping, not eating at specific hours, and a lot of that affects this, and of course, if we don’t get the correct information and the correct examples we are maybe impossible to battle this problem that generates a lot of deseases like diabetes, heart problems, blood pressure and things like that. Maybe here in our country we can try to solve this “easily” because the history of our culture, like a said before, the markets, the “tianguis”, etc. that is a tradition going each weekend and things like that, maybe help us to reach better results for the next generations of not having this problem, including teaching them the love for the exercise, not in excess but yes to keep fit.

Alcoholism is a pattern of alcohol use that involves problems controlling your drinking, alcohol puts your health at risk, and there are levels of alcoholism even a mild disorder can escalate and lead to serious problems, so early the treatment is important.
There are two main types of alcoholism; alcohol abuse, and alcohol dependency, the first is when an individual continually drinks excessively and the second one is when they feel continuous cravings for drinking, and may suffer light to severe withdrawal symptoms if they stop.
It exist specific guidelines as too what constitutes moderate and excessive drinking. The World Health Organization (WHO) says there are at least 140 million alcoholics in the world; unfortunately, the majority of them are not treated. A study found that alcohol is a factor in 1 in 25 deaths worldwide.
In my opinion is not bad to drink, we just have to learn to control us, it is important to set limits in all, not exceed them and not become addicted to any substance. No matter what addiction is, we must try not to have any addiction to be healthy
I agree totally with you. This problem can cause more serious problems and premature death. If you can see TV for more than 2 hours a day, you can do exercise for less 30 minutes, there is time for all the activities you want; the secret is to organize your time in the best way and get out of the lazy life.

People with alcoholism have a distinct physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it.
The alcoholic knows neither when nor how to stop drinking.
The alcoholic knows neither when nor how to stop drinking.
In the USA, 15% of Americans are problem drinkers, while between 5% to 10% of male and 3% to 5% of female drinkers could be diagnosed as alcohol dependent, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Opinion
We have to make concience about the danger provocate by the alcohol make in the people specially we have to make concience on teenagers because in that age lot of people start with the consume of alcohol. And people have to know that is important to acept the problem and go ahead and work to eliminate the problem because a lot of people have alcoholism but they don't want to acept it.
I read your comment and i agree with you becuase some people don´t make conscience about the danger provocate by the alcohol specially the teenagers, they sometimes start drinking because use their friends do it and he or she didn´t want to feel out of place. I also agree with you that people who are suffering from alcoholism must accept they have a problem because not only themselves will be affected it also will affect the people around him.

Link 1: people with a body mass index of 30 or higher are considered obese. The term "obesity" is used to describe the health condition of anyone who has a weight above the ideal.
Almost 70% of American adults are either obese or overweight. Being obese puts you at a higher risk for health problems
Being obese can have many consequences in your health in many ways, such as: heart, skin, bones, blood, etc.
Your healthiest weight is even just losing a few pounds can make the difference.
Link 2: obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health.
If a person's weight is at least 20% over the ideal weight they are considered obese. If your body mass index is 30 or over you are considered obese.
Why do people become obese?
There are too many reasons like:
Consuming too many calories, Having a sedentary lifestyle, Not sleeping enough, Endocrine disruptors, such as some food that interfere with lipid metabolism, Lower rates of smoking, Medications, Obesity gene, etc.
Link 3:
Many people in the U.S are obese they called it "epidemic", it has social such as psychological consequences, and it's also a childhood problem it is more than 50% obese children population, unless they have a way to control it will continue increasing year passed year.
My opinion: well I think such as in the three links, people might care more about their weight not just because it has psychological and social consequences also it has serious healthy consequences, they have to search a way at least eating healthier or doing some exercise, it doesn't has to be a gym, you can just walk 30 minutes per day and it will be better for you weight and your health: because obesity it's becoming a really big problem for many countries.

OBESITY
ReplyDeleteObesity is common and serious. Has truly become a worldwide problem, affecting countries rich and poor, not that long ago, obesity was largely a problem of the rich, primarily in wealthy countries.
Obesity remains one of the biggest threats to the health of our country, putting millions of Americans at increased risk of a range of chronic diseases.
Children and youth. - rates are declining among 2-to 5-year-olds, stable among 6-to 11-year-olds, and increasing among 12-to 19-year-olds.
Adults. - One of the most recent and careful global estimates finds that roughly 500 million adults are obese (defines as a body mass index, or BMI, of 30 or higher). That´s almost 10 percent of men and 14 percent of women and it´s nearly double the rate of obesity in 1980.
Obesity related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death.
Opinion. - The obesity is a global damage that it has existed long ago. But the damage is growing up conform the years. And it´s present in all the ages of persons. Is something serious that we have to worry, because it don´t comes alone; many types of diseases come with it.

ALCOHOLISM
Alcoholism is a very serious problem, nowadays there are many cases of people suffering from alcoholism.
There are about 18 million American adults have an alcohol use disorder.
Alcoholism is a STRESS DISORDER THAT CAUSES, severe alcohol dependence, loss of control on the actions taken by the alcoholic
Alcoholism occurs when a man consumes more than eight units of alcohol and a woman consumes over six units in one sitting.
Too much alcohol is dangerous. Excessive drinking can increase the risk of certain cancers. It can cause damage to the liver, brain and other organs. Drinking during pregnancy can harm your baby. Alcohol also increases the risk of death from automobile accidents, injuries, homicide and suicide.
Adults are not the only ones that can suffer from alcohol abuse. Many teenagers are at risk of developing an alcohol abuse problem due to the availability of the substance and peer pressure. Out of all the drugs used by teens, alcohol is used more frequently.
Alcohol has the ability to alter moods that´s why it´s a very risky problem because most teenagers cannot handle the effects of alcohol and are not responsible enough to deal with it.
Alcoholism occurs when a man consumes more than eight units of alcohol and a woman consumes over six units in one sitting.
In my opinion, I think we need to raise awareness in people about the abuse of alcoholic drinks that one way or another, cause serious problems in our health and not only affects the alcoholic, it affects all who are his around, especially in teenagers it's where we must do more emphasis on this problem as they are the most likely to fall into this disorder.

Obesity
“Overweight” and “obesity” refer to body weight that’s greater than what is considered healthy for a certain height.
In these days, being overweight is more common than being underweight. In the last 30 years, a growing number of kids and teenagers have developed weight problems. Today 1 out 3 kids and teens between the ages 2 and 19 are overweight, or obese.
WHAT MEAN?
They mean that someone has more body fat than is healthy. Everyone has some body fat, but excess fat can affect someone health and ability to walk, run, as well as how the person looks and his or her self-esteem.
BMI (body mass index)
Is an indicator of how much body fat the person has, but is only an estimate
PERSONAL OPINION
In my opinion people it´s fat because they want to, because they like to eat unhealthy foods. Some people if they have illnesses and can´t lose weight, but the others, if they stopped eating so much, and eat better, would be at a normal weight.
The obesity is a product that affect Rich and Poor countries equally.
ReplyDeleteResearchers have tried to explain the cause of this Big problem.
according to statistics this problem is not diminishing, is increasing.
"One of the most recent and careful global estimates finds that roughly 500 million adults are obese (defined as a body mass index, or BMI, of 30 or higher)."
For me, the health is in the hands of each person, look after yourself, eat healthly, do exercise etc... its depend on each person, if we want live completely and be happy for a long time we need start with the most basic like take care our body and health, need check what we eat.
If the people really was aware the damage it can cause in the future, they have a most carefull with they eat so... i think that education is very important to teach that the juni food is bad and it can bring many repercussions and a poor quality life.

Alcoholism.
Alcohol use disorder is a pattern of alcohol use that involves problems controlling your drinking, being preoccupied with alcohol, continuing to use alcohol even when it causes problems, having to drink more to get the same effect, or having withdrawal symptoms when you rapidly decrease or stop drinking.
Alcohol use disorder can be mild, moderate or severe, based on the number of symptoms you experience. Signs and symptoms may include:
Being unable to limit the amount of alcohol you drink, wanting to cut down on how much you drink or making unsuccessful attempts to do so, spending a lot of time drinking, getting alcohol or recovering from alcohol use, failing to fulfill major obligations at work, school or home due to repeated alcohol use, continuing to drink alcohol even though you know it's causing physical.
Opinion.
Young people believe that drinking alcohol are more important and fun much worse than they don't realize is nonsense to say when they are drunk, and other thing that I think it's that they can catch an illness, an accident or remain in a coma because of alcohol, one of the things that I don't understand is that they don't need alcohol for fun, and the first thing that they do is go out for a drink, I don't say that they don't drink but don't abuse of the alcohol.

Alcoholism is a medical condition in which someone frequently drinks too much alcohol and becomes unable to live a normal and healthy life.
Having a parent who is an alcoholic makes you four times more likely to be one yourself and growing up in a household where alcohol is prevalent also ups the risk of alcoholism in your future.
Some of the symptoms of alcohol dependence include:
-Tremors the morning after you’ve drank
-Alcohol-induced illnesses
-Memory lapses due to blackouts while drinking
-Withdrawal symptoms set in if you stop drinking for too long
-Tolerance to alcohol that requires you to drink more than you used to
-Inability to control how much you drink or stop after you’ve started
-Finding excuses to drink (they drink for every reason)
Being an alcoholic person can affect your brain, you're probably going to get a mental disorder.
Here’s how alcohol can affect your body:
--Heart. Arrhythmias – Irregular heart beat; high blood pressure.
--Liver. Steatosis, or fatty liver; Alcoholic hepatitis; Fibrosis; Cirrhosis.
--Pancreas. Pancreatitis - a dangerous inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels in the pancreas that prevents proper digestion.
--Cancer in mouth, esophagus, throat, liver, breast.
In my point of view, it is not bad to drink alcohol, the bad thing is to abuse of it, because we can turn addicts to this substance and in the long term it can turn into something worse, such as a mental illness.

Alcohol Addiction.
Alcohol addiction, also known as alcoholism, is a disease that affects people of all walks of life. Experts have tried to pinpoint factors like genetics, sex, race, or socioeconomics that may predispose someone to alcohol addiction. But it has no single cause. Psychological, genetic, and behavioral factors can all contribute to having the disease.
It can cause changes to the brain and neurochemistry, so a person with an alcohol addiction may not be able to control their actions.
The symptom that all alcoholic has to want to drink alcohol all the time.
Alcohol addiction can result in heart disease and liver disease. Both can be fatal.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drunk driving, for example, takes 28 lives every day in the United States. Drinking is also associated with an increased incidence of suicide and homicide.
In order for treatment to work, the person with an alcohol addiction must want to get sober. You can’t force them to stop drinking if they aren’t ready. Success depends on the person’s desire to get better.
In my opinión, I believe alcoholism is a serious problem today, because thanks to this problem have died many people addicted or not, also this causes the separation of many families and health problems with the age.
It’s necessary that the addicted person receives therapies to control the addiction and live a happy life, no addictions, no problems.

Obesity
It's a health condition, it consist in someone that it's above the ideal weight because of an excess of fat in you body. Most of the people of the United States is obese or overweight and everyone should have the goal of not be like that because it can cause you other health problems like:
•Raise blood cholesterol
•Increase blood pressure
•Induce Diabetes
•Increase the risk for heart disease and stroke
And it is recommended to go to the doctor to have some control of the body weigh giving you some advice in your nutrition.
Here are some common reasons why people become obese:
•Eat a lot of calories
•Having a sedentary life, for example, not doing exercise and being on the sofa or bed all day, etc.
•Not sleeping enough
•Smoking
But it can also depend in your metabolism, genetic, etc.
My opinion: I believe that people should start worrying about their alimentation because it is more important than doing exercise, for example, exercise won't reduce the sugar in your blood and eating junk food or having a bad nutrition disorder and thats why it's the main reason people are fat, people prefer to eat a lot of sugar and salt instead of eating some vegetables and fruit and it is something that we need to change.
I read your comment and really agree with you because we have to start worrying about our food, exercise, eat healthy, start eating foods like fruits and vegetables and try to eat less sugar and salt. It is also important to know the risks of obesity and the factors that produce and we have to worry about what we eat.

Rudolph’s Problem (Alcoholism)
Drinking causes distress and harm. It includes alcoholism and alcohol abuse. Alcoholism, or alcohol dependence, is a disease that causes. Here are some examples:
• Craving - a strong need to drink
• Loss of control - not being able to stop drinking once you've started
• Physical dependence - withdrawal symptoms
• Tolerance - the need to drink more alcohol to feel the same effect
With alcohol abuse, you are not physically dependent, the drinking may cause problems at home, work, or school. Another common problem is binge drinking, that it means drinking about five or more drinks in two hours for men. For women, it is about four or more drinks in two hours, like in a party, for example.
Too much alcohol is dangerous. Heavy drinking can increase the risk of certain cancers. It can cause damage to the liver, brain, and other organs. When you are pregnant is very harmful for the baby. It also increases the risk of death from car crashes, injuries, homicide, even if you haven’t drink, or suicide.
If you want to stop drinking, there is help. Start by accepting it, talking to your health care provider. There are two very famous places that can help you with this problem; one is called Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and the other National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). There are to support you and help you to reduce or to stop your problem. In my opinion this is a very important topic, because many people have it, and they usually start as teens and they never attend themselves and they can be rude with others being drunk, even when they´re adults, I think this is very important to attend it on time, because it also may affect your friends, family, pets or even people on the street.

The three web links start talking about how hard it is to stop a drinking problem, but it is possible to have a successful recovery if you have faith in yourself and you struggle to recover from this addiction.
The three web links as a first step proposes to identify and avoid those situations or people that encourage you to drink, also to think twice before you consume an alcoholic drink. The second step, according to the articles, is to look for external help, such as medical supervision, friends or family that support your decision and cheer you in the treatment of your addiction. The final step of the treatment consists in finding new activities or hobbies, friends, relations, etc. that can distract you from drinking, also to continue with the treatment and not consuming alcohol too often or in big quantities. When you accomplish these steps your health will improve and also your relations with the people that surround you.
Opinion
The links that my classmate post have a lot of valuable information in the treatment of alcoholism, the information is very clear and specific. About the alcoholism I think that is a problem that in the past few years has grown in an alarming way and has reached the youth in our country, that start the consume of alcohol between the 12 and 13 years old, this increase in the consume of alcoholic drinks will bring a bigger health problem among the population in the next few years and the alcoholism will be a much more common addiction than it is nowadays. I believe that we have to raise awareness about the effects of the alcohol and how to avoid being an alcoholic or how to solve this addiction. I think that an alcoholic person can recover only if the person is ready and is willing to get the support they need even though their addiction is severe.

Alcoholism or alcohol dependence is defined by the American Medical Association (AMA) as "a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations.
Is a disease that causes:

-Loss of control - not being able to stop drinking once you've started
-Physical dependence - withdrawal symptoms

I think this is a very important topic bacause it´s a situation that many teenagers have. In high school the problem gets bigger because of the parties. the friends and, sometimes, the need of being part of a group. Drinking at this age could be so dangerous cause the body functions haven´t completely developed. Also, the abuse, can get the person in really serious problems, like socialize, get a job, have a family. One of the most important things is that some stores allowed the minors to buy alcohol, and they not even ask for an ID, so they easily can have it.

Obesity is an epidemic problem that have devastating personal impact.
In most of the cases, having a body mass index above 29.9 are at increased risk for hypertension type 2, diabetes heart diseases, certain type of cancer.
This problem can be solved, stop eating fast food and sodas, because this kind of food contains 85% of sugar, so this means that every time that you drink a soda you eat 12 table spoons of sugar.
“Management of obesity”
The main treatment for obesity consist of dieting and physical exercise, diet programs may produce weight loss over the short term, but maintaining this weight loss is frequently difficult because we don’t have enough force to do it and unfortunately we need to start a new one, this happen because Mexicans do not have diet and exercise culture and that is why we can complete our projects in general talking about good health.

The third link talks about how obesitycan cause different kinds of cancer including oesophageal (gullet), womb, and bowel tumours.Doctors are trying to invent new technologies and new drogs to make a treatment for the cancer caused by the obesity.
Personal opinion: I think that obesity is a mayor problem now a days, mostly in Mexico. I think that the mayor responsables of this are parents because they can teach children to eat healthy and there are parents that don't ake care of what their children eat. The health education starts at home. Also I think that the goverment must do some campains to help and inform people about the health problems that can come with obesity and help them to fight against this illness and give them also some psychological help.
Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Both terms mean that a person's weight is greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height.
ReplyDeleteObesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use.
For example, that means losing 10 to 20 pounds if you weigh 200 pounds.
Now, I think that we could prevent being obese so much before the disease really affect you.
But sometimes this conditions are more emotional than physical, and you can handle it if you aren´t 100% decided to be healthy.
I could tell that because my brother are like overweight, and he usually eats a lot of junk food and he don´t do excercise. When I or my parents are near to him we try to get him out of bed or the videogames and do something more healthy, or just changing our habits, by OUR I mean we all because if we just tell him what to do or what he can´t do, he could think that we´re telling him that to piss him off;but if we do something with him, that will be more easy and we could like compete and in that way we all go from great to better.
So, finally it´s all about how we were raised up, because that defines what we wil get use to in future.

Obesity
The term “obese” describes a person who’s very overweight, with a lot of body fat. There are many ways in which a person's health in relation to their weight can be classified, but the most widely used method is body mass index (BMI).
BMI is a measure of whether you're a healthy weight for your height. You can use the BMI healthy weight calculator to work out your score.
For most adults, a BMI of:
-18.5 to 24.9 means you're a healthy weight
-25 to 29.9 means you're overweight
-30 to 39.9 means you're obese
-40 or above means you're severely obese
It's very important to take steps to tackle obesity because, as well as causing obvious physical changes; it can lead to a number of serious and potentially life-threatening conditions, such as:
-Type 2 diabetes
-Coronary heart disease
-Some types of cancer, such as breast cancer and bowel cancer
-Stroke
Waist circumference is another widely used measurement to determine abdominal fat content. An excess of abdominal fat, when out of proportion to total body fat, is considered a predictor of risk factors related to obesity. Men with a waist measurement exceeding 40 inches are considered at risk. Women are at risk with a waist measurement of 35 inches or greater.
In my opinion it is very important that we stay thin, eat so much is bad as eating too little. If we believe that we have a weight problem we have to advise our parents to bring us with a dietician, because a weight problem can bring us serious health problems.

As with other health conditions, healthy environments are necessary for prevention strategies. Improving access to nutritious food is a vital step. Indigenous people in rural nd remote areas do not have sufficient access to nutritious foods and need particular consideration. Preventive strategies, including those for young people, are essential to prevent the consequences of overweight and obesity leading to further ill-health in the Indigenous population. Of course, these initiatives need to be positioned within broad strategies addressing the continuing social and economic disadvantages experienced.
In my opinión, your body weight can literally be a matter of life or death. So yo have to be carefull of what you eating and how much you are eating, if you dont have a healthy life you can have problems in the future. You hace to drink a lot of wáter and do exsercise. You also have to be carefull with kids because sometimes obesity starts since they were Little.

Obesity
Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. A few cases are caused primarily by genes, endocrine disorders, medications, or mental illness. Obesity is mostly preventable through a combination of social changes and personal choices. Changes to diet and exercising are the main treatments. Diet quality can be improved by reducing the consumption of energy-dense foods.Obesity is a preventable cause of death worldwide, with increasing rates in adults and children. Raised BMI is a major risk factor for noncommunicable diseases such as:
* cardiovascular diseases
* diabetes
* musculoskeletal disorders
* cancer
Childhood obesity is associated with a higher chance of obesity, premature death and disability in adulthood. But in addition to increased future risks, obese children experience breathing difficulties, increased risk of fractures, hypertension, early markers of cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance and psychological effects.
OPINION
The obesity is a very delicate problem of health, which with the passage of time has been increasing in our country, causing chronic problems of health, even the death.
For example, in our country, the obesity with major index of sick patients, is the infantile obesity.
The problem of our society is the consumption of harmful products for the health, the solution to this problem is the retirement of these products of the market.
**Teacher, in the page of facebook, only a companion posteo information about the obesity, but one of his links was not containing correct information about the topic, then to avoid a problem, I looked for information extra, here I integrate the link.**

ALCOHOLISM
Alcoholism could be described as a physical compulsion, coupled with a mental obsession. This means that people who go through this situation have an enormous craving and desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it. Typically, the last person to be aware that he/she has a serious drinking problem is the alcoholic himself/herself because they are in denial.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says there are at least 140 million alcoholics in the world; unfortunately, the majority of them are not treated.
There are few alternatives for the alcoholic. If they continue drinking, their problem will become progressively worse. They could end up in hospitals, jails or other institutions, or it could lead to an early grave. The best alternative is to stop drinking completely and to abstain from even the smallest quantity of alcohol in any form.
OPINION
Alcohol, like any other addictive substance, if consumed in large quantities can damage your health and cause many serious problems not only at home or work, but also financially. Alcoholism is a progressive disease that can be stopped provided that the person faces the problem and tries to do something about it by taking advantage of the help available to treat its issue.

First Summary.
The first thing we need to know about alcoholism is that it's one of the biggest problems that the man faced troughout history. Doctors have studied this problem and have defined as a physical compulsion. This disease causes:
Craving - a strong need to drink
Loss of control - not being able to stop drinking ones you started
Physical dependence - withdrawal symptoms
Tolerance - the need to drink more alcohol to feel the same effect.
Alcoholism can destroy someone's life in just a bit. Alcohol damages the organs such as the liver or brain, increase the risk of having different types of cancers.
Don't drink alcohol.

Subtitle: Alcohol Dependency
When a person has a dependency on alcohol, they feel continuous cravings for drinking, and may suffer light to severe withdrawal symptoms if they stop.
These withdrawal symptoms can be overcome with treatment.
Heavy drinking can put your health and relationships with others at risk, and also cause you to use poor judgment resulting in negative consequences. This equates to more than four drinks per day for men (more than 14 drinks each week) or more than three a day for women (7 drinks per week).

OBESITY
Obesity is defined as excess adipose tissue. There are different methods for determining excess adipose tissue but the most common is called Body Mass Index, this is calculated by dividing a person's body weight by their height.
Mexico has one of the highest obesity rates in the world diabetes is now the #1 cause of death in the country. Some of the obesity risk factors in Mexico are poor education really bad diets and bad nutrition, and not caring at all about the calories or even the portion. Then one of the most important factors are that companies all around the world are making more accessible processed foods by selling them in low cost prices, also poor access to potable water is a serious issue that doesn't help to obesity. There are any consequences about this from the obvious ones like, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems to cancer and fertility problems.
I think that this is a really serious problem that is growing more and more every time, but also that people are not doing anything about it so that we can confront this, I mean if you don't want to gain weight not only for beauty but for health, you can start making changes like drinking more water, doing exercise, taking care of your diet, but also companies are not making this easy cause junk food is always going to be cheaper than healthy one.

Alcoholism is a disease that is characterized by a strong need or compulsion to drink, the frequent inability to stop drinking and the occurrence of withdrawal symptoms, such as nausea, sweating, shakiness, and anxiety, when alcohol use is stopped after a period of heavy drinking. These symptoms are usually relieved by drinking alcohol or by taking another sedative drug.
Alcoholism has little to do with what kind of alcohol somebody drinks, how long one has been drinking, or even exactly how much alcohol one consumes. But it has a great deal to do with a person's uncontrollable need for alcohol. This description of alcoholism helps us understand why most alcoholics can't just “use a little willpower” to stop drinking. He or she is frequently in the grip of a powerful craving for alcohol, a need that can feel as strong as the need for food or water.
While some people are able to recover without help, the majority of alcoholic individuals need outside assistance to recover from their disease. With support and treatment, many individuals are able to stop drinking and rebuild their lives.
In my opinion, Alcoholism is a disease that creates physical, behavioral, and emotional consequences. It is not something that can be “cured,” but is something that can be managed successfully. Individuals with this illness are often plagued by trauma histories, family dysfunction while growing up, and a need to alleviate painful struggles.

Salary Problems
First of all, I think that economic problems are due to the lack of organization by the companies and bosses who give work to people who work in these companies, and if for some reason they come to have problems when paying the full salary to their workers, they completely have every right to express their dissatisfaction because it is not fair that someone is doing a job and not receive adequate pay for it. These economic problems in companies are very common in troubled countries such as those with military, political, among other things, and the bad is that employees who work in those companies can not do anything to solve the power freely express their right to expression, since it is something that is not in their hands, the only thing left to do is to express freely their right of expression and request that they pay as the laws dictate.
In my opinion the best weblink is the second one, because it talks about that if you are unhappy with your salary you can go and talk with your boss about that, it also says that the best way to solve problems is talking.

Alcoholism
Alcoholism is also known as alcohol dependence and alcohol use disorder. It occurs when you drink so much that your body eventually becomes dependent on or addicted to alcohol. When this happens, alcohol becomes the most important thing in your life.
Physical signs of alcohol overconsumption and intoxication are recognizable by most adults:
Slurred or incoherent speech
Poor balance and clumsiness
Delayed reflexes
Stomach pains, vomiting or nausea
Loss of consciousness or blacking-out
Redness of the face during or after periods of consumption
Options of treatment: When asked how alcohol problems are treated, people commonly think of 12-step programs or 28-day inpatient rehab, but may have difficulty naming other options. In fact, there are a variety of treatment methods currently available, thanks to significant advances in the field over the past 60 years.
Opinion: In my opinion I think drinking alcohol is not a bad thing, the bad thing of drinking alcohol is that many people abuse of it, and becomes alcoholic and that cause many diseases.

Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health.
* Overall, about 13% of the world’s adult population (11% of men and 15% of women) were obese in 2014.
* The worldwide prevalence of obesity more than doubled between 1980 and 2014.
Overweight and obesity are linked to more deaths worldwide than underweight. Globally there are more people who are obese than underweight
What causes obesity and overweight?
The fundamental cause of obesity and overweight is an energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended. Globally, there has been:
How can overweight and obesity be reduced
* limit energy intake from total fats and sugars;
* increase consumption of fruit and vegetables, as well as legumes, whole grains and nuts; and
* engage in regular physical activity (60 minutes a day for children and 150 minutes spread through the week for adults).
What are common health consequences of overweight and obesity?
* cardiovascular diseases (mainly heart disease and stroke), which were the leading cause of death in 2012;
* diabetes;
* musculoskeletal disorders (especially osteoarthritis – a highly disabling degenerative disease of the joints);
* some cancers (including endometrial, breast, ovarian, prostate, liver, gallbladder, kidney, and colon).
*
My opinion on this topic, are very troubling in all aspects that not nothing else harms yourself, if not also the Future generations why, in each time we are inventing objects that makes people more loose so it ourselves we encourage obesity.
And what we must do is, teach our children from child to eat healthily and do exercise, for your health; to prevent desease.

In the poor classes we have obese parents and malnourished children. The worst thing is the children are becoming programmed for obesity. It's a very serious epidemic. About 70 percent of Mexican adults are considered overweight; 32.8 percent are obese. Mexico has become the No. 1 per capita consumer of soda, with the average person drinking more than 46 gallons per year , 86 percent more than the average American. Some medical studies suggest a genetic predisposition to obesity, particularly among indigenous people of the south.
Some of the obesity risk factors in Mexico are common globally, including poor education regarding diet and nutrition, confusing product labeling and increasing portion sizes. Then there’s the worldwide proliferation of low-cost processed foods. Poor access to potable water doesn’t help, along with urbanization and the decline of traditional diets and societal trends toward more sedentary jobs.
Weight-related diabetes claims the most Mexican lives each year, with nearly one of every six Mexican adults suffering from the disease. Heart and related ailments round out the list of the country's top killers.
Opinion
In my opinion, I agree with the three links that put my partner, in one of them we even spoke specifically of people suffering from obesity.
Mexico is actually one of the countries with highest percentage of obese people either do not have a buana diet, no exercise and even not well informed about what to do and eat to be in good health.

The first web talks about the definition of obesity: "Obesity is a term used to describe somebody who is very overweight with a high degree of body fat"
Explains that not because you have few kilograms more you have obesity; to clarify get some information on how you can see if you are overweight viewing your IBM.
And if you are overweight or obese, tehy recommend you go to the doctor, and what you have to told when you're in the doctor so he can sees the reason for your weight gain.
The second also gives a definition of what the disease is and explain the reasons why people come to be overweight and also talks about if you have obesity which are symptoms that can present.
The third, like the other webs, gives the definition of obesity and puts the causes, but also explains what IBM: "The body mass index (BMI) is a statistical measurement derived from your height and weight."
In my opinion, because this disease was increasing, they have increased pages that speak of this subject, in order to inform to prevent or eliminate the disease.
And also, the webs explain that if you have obesity you can have other diseasses like cancer, diabetes, etc.

Problem drinking that becomes severe is given the medical diagnosis of “alcohol use disorder” or AUD. Approximately 7.2 percent or 17 million adults in the United States ages 18 and older had an AUD in 2012. To be diagnosed with an AUD, individuals must meet certain criteria outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
Alcoholism, also known as alcohol use disorder (AUD), is a broad term for any drinking of alcohol that results in problems. It was previously divided into two types: alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence. Alcohol use can affect all parts of the body but particularly affects the brain, heart, liver, pancreas, and immune system.
Opinion: In my point of view alcoholism is a serious problem in our society, althoug alcoholic beverages has always been existed nowadays there are new drinks that contains substances and quemicals that are artificially made making the consumers more addict and damage their health. The persons that are alcoholic not only put in risk their lifes but the ones that surround them.
Prevention of alcoholism is possible by regulating and limiting the sale of alcohol, taxing alcohol to increase its cost, and providing inexpensive treatment.

Obesity
The obesity is one of the most problem about health in the world. In many countries this is the biggest problem they have. In all the world the obesity has more than doubled since 1980
The term “obesity” is used to describe the health condition of anyone significantly above his or her ideal healthy weight. The obesity means having too much body fat. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. It mean that a person's weight is greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height.
Obesity occurs when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories-in and calories-out differsf for each person.
Being obese increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers.
But the obesity is preventable that mean that you can try to lose weight based in diet but is essential treated by a doctor.
Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health.
When your weight is in a healthy range: Your body more efficiently circulates blood, your fluid levels are more easily managed, you are less likely to develop diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers and sleep apnea.
Obesity increases the risk for heart disease and stroke. But it harms more than just the heart and blood vessel system. It's also a major cause of gallstones, osteoarthritis and respiratory problems.

There is a problem that they don´t are the only responsables for the begin of the problem, in many cases begins when the person see "normal" in his childhood someone drinks a lot and they saw that funny or in other cases friends and parties induce you to drink too much, they feel older or cool doing that but the truth is they have a problem that cause depndence, they need more alcohol to feel the same effect as the last time. you can recognize a alcoholic with some sympthoms, this are the two most important to help in time:
-drinking alone/in secret
-Not being able to limit how much alcohol is consumed
When you detected one of this you can help supporting the person, maybe they have problems and is relieved drinking. There are many groups of help like AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) they teach them how to overcome when they willpower is too low. The persons close to the alcoholic they need to support. This problem is all over the world, one example si United Kingdom where 40% of emergency hospital admittances are alcohol-related, particularly among young men, according to a study carried out by researchers from the Université de Montréal and the University of Western Ontario.

Obesity means having to much fat and its different from being overweight.
Weight can come from muscle, bone, fat and water. Obesity is a consequence from eating more calories than you need, and it is different for everybody.
Genetics, overeating and not being active can affect our weight. Also obesity can cause diabetes or a hearth disease, even cancer.
It can affects people from all ages and it is an increasing problem and the number of obese people is increasing. It can be related to an increase in urban living like having a more sedentary lifestyle because of television and videogames.
Purchases of fruits and vegetables are dropping and sugar beverages are increasing.
In Mexico, health problems like diabetes are increasing, and it has one of the highest obesity ratings in the world.
Some other causes could be that parents don’t realize their kids are overweight, poor education regarding nutrition and increasing portion sizes, and poor access to potable water isn’t helping.
In my opinion obesity is a problem that we should take care about. I think there should be more information in schools about healthy diets and about different activities to avoid sedentary life.

Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat thai it might have a negative effect on their helth. When a person's body weight is at least 20% higher than it should be, it's considered obese. People can become obese for many different reasons. Some of those reasons are due to consuming too many calories, leading a sedentary life; with the arrival of modern convenience devices people are commonly leading a sedentary lifestyle. Another reason can be to not sleep enough, if you don't sleep enough your risk of becoming obese doubles; also medications that make people put on weight, and obesity gene. Those are some examples of reasons why people can become obese.
I think this is an important thing that people should take with importance, because if you don't take care of yourself the consecuences can be terrible. Also I think people who have this problems should make something to change it, something I really think is important is to do exercise al least 30 minutes two o three times at the week, and of course have a good diet.
I agree with your opinion because I also think that obesity affects to everybody in the world, no matter the age or social condition.

ReplyDeleteOn the first web link it talks about the problems of drinking while you’re driving or before you’re going to drive some place. It says how the law is asking questions and not getting good answers for knowing how much alcohol do you need to drink to drive. Dr. Ting-Kai Li, who heads the Indiana Alcohol Research Centre, says that the development of alcoholism is influenced by both genetic and environmental factors.
Studies have convincingly shown that there’s a strong genetic influence on susceptibility to alcoholism.
The second link says that alcoholism is a disease that is characterizes by a strong need or compulsion to drink, loss of control and that you feel a physical dependance for it. It says that nearly 14 million of people in the United States are alcoholic. It explains to you what is alcoholism, alcohol abuse, alcohol treatment, the alcoholics anonymous program and if this disease can be cured.
The third link does not show anything about the topic, actually, I think it must be a problem from the web page or the link, the web page just has bulletins and different subject areas and a lot of sub-links of medicine.
I think it isn't bad drinking it is bad when you don't have control of yourself, of your body, when you start depending on something you have an addiction problem. When you're an alcoholic you don't just hurt yourself but everyone around you too, your family and when you drive people you don't even know.
I agree with your opinion because drinking isn't wrong, the wrong thing is when you consume alcohol to get drunk instead of having a good time. The alcohol, like everything, in excess affects you and all around you, so I think that we must have an idea of what is good for us.

We can say a person suffers of obesity when it has reached over 30 kg/m2 of body mass, according to information of the World Heath Organization. Today there are more than 300 million of clinical obese cases over the world, number that frighteningly increases due to economic growth, modernization, urbanization and globalization of food markets. This increasing number not only affects adults but children whose weight problems will not exclusively affect their physical yet their self-esteem and social health. It is important to highlight that obese children will later become obese adults. In order to avoid this problem parent and pediatricians should take action to help this poor obese kids.
Opinion: If everyone knew the importance of avoid fast food and exercise in childhood we should reduce index of obesity in adults, the million of dollars spent in the treatment of obesity every year and eradicate one of the most important health problem of our days.

Topic: Causes of obesity.
-Obesity is generally caused by eating too much, also by consuming high amounts of energy, particularly fat and sugars but not burn off the energy through exercise and physical activities.
-Calories. The energy value of food is measured in units called calories. The average physically active humans need is about 2,500 calories a day, (it changes depending of the gender).
-Poor diet. Like eating large amounts of processed or fast food, drinking too much alcohol, eating in restaurants, eating larger portions than the ones you need, drinking too many sugary drinks and also mental deseases. Unhealthy eating habits tend to run in families.
-Lack of physical activity. This is another important factor related to obesity, many people have jobs and they don't have time to walk or ride a bicycle are in this cause.
-Genetics. There are some rare genetic conditions that can cause obesity, there are lots of syndromes.
-Medical reasons. There are lots of deseases like the hypothyroidism, or Cushing's syndrome.
I think that the obesity is an important problem to worry about, because if we don't prevent it, the persons behind us will be like the society is right now; there are lots of causes, but I think that if we can prevent it, we should do it.
More than half of American youths ages 12 to 20 have tried alcohol. Drinking at a young age greatly increases the risk of developing alcohol problems later in life. Young people who drink are more likely to be the victims of violent crime, to be involved in alcohol-related traffic accidents, and to have depression and anxiety. Other risky behaviors are also linked to early drinking. Young people who start using alcohol before age 21 are more likely to:
ReplyDelete• Be involved in violent behaviors
• Attempt suicide
• Engage in unprotected sex or have multiple sex partners
• Develop alcohol problems in later life
As well as the age at which they start consuming alcohol, a number of other factors influence a teen or young adult’s drinking behavior and whether it will become a problem. These include:
• Genetics. A teen with an alcoholic sibling or parent is four times more likely to develop a problem with alcohol than someone without such a family history.
• The presence of mental health disorders. Alcohol problems often go hand in hand with mental health problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia.
• Personality traits. Teenagers who believe alcohol makes it easier to socialize, for example, tend to drink more than those who don’t believe that alcohol loosens their social inhibitions.
• Influence of family and peers. Teens are at greater risk for developing alcohol-related problems when alcohol is readily available at home or among their peer group, and if drunkenness is acceptable.
• Gender. Men are more likely to drink heavily than women, but women become addicted at lower levels and shorter duration of use.
The prevalent use of alcohol among teens and young adults is alarming for a number of reasons:
• Alcohol is a major factor in fatal automobile crashes. Drinking may have lasting health effects.
• Drinking can lead to sexual assaults and rape.
• In my opinion this kind of information has to be read by all the teenagers who start to drink at this age parents or another adults shoul talk about this kind of situations with teenagers and let them know about the risks we have with alcohol at this age. But also we need to have the responsability with alcohol and try to understand that we can have a great time without drinking.

I am agree with you because alcoholism brings a lot of problems. That problems could be prevent by not drinking alcohol.Everybody have to read and know about alcoholism speacially on teenagers because a lot of people begin to drink at this age.And if you are informed you won't fall in this problem. And if you drink you must accept the consecuences of your acts.

The three web links are giving a definition of alcoholism, the symptons, signs of an alcoholic. An alcoholic is a man or a woman who suffers from alcoholism , they have a distinct physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it, regardless of all rules of common sense. Alcoholics are obsessed with alcohol and cannot control how much they consume, even if it is causing serious problems at home, work, and financially. Alcoholism and alcohol abuse are due to many interconnected factors, including genetics, how you were raised, your social environment, and your emotional health. People who have a family history of alcoholism or who associate closely with heavy drinkers are more likely to develop drinking problems. Finally, those who suffer from a mental health problem such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder are also particularly at risk, because alcohol may be used to self-medicate.
I think that alcoholism is one of the most leading problems throughout the world. And the adicction commonly start when you are a teenager and you have the peer pressure, but not only to taste alcohol, but also to drink until you get into bad conditions only to have a really good time at the party. The worst part is that teens seem to be getting a hold of alcohol at a younger and younger age.
Also the problems that alcohol dependence have are that they affect the person physically, psychologically and socially. Until drinking becomes a compulsion for a person and it takes precedence over all other activities. We must teach the children the problems that alcoholism can have in their lifes, the rest is their the decision.

What Causes Overweight and Obesity?
A lack of energy balance most often causes overweight and obesity. Energy balance means that your energy IN equals your energy OUT.
Many Americans aren't very physically active. One reason for this is that many people spend hours in front of TVs and computers doing work, schoolwork, and leisure activities. In fact, more than 2 hours a day of regular TV viewing time has been linked to overweight and obesity.
Being overweight or obese isn't a cosmetic problem. These conditions greatly raise your risk for other health problems.
As your body mass index rises, so does your risk for coronary heart disease (CHD). CHD is a condition in which a waxy substance called plaque (plak) builds up inside the coronary arteries. These arteries supply oxygen-rich blood to your heart.
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over time, it can damage the body in many ways.
Opinión
Overweigth is often seen only as an aesthetic issue , but after reading all the information contained in the links, i can say that is much more serious than that, the health problems that this entails reduces the quality of life of many people around the world , can even cause death and as it is a problem that affects more often people of my age for that reason i think it needs to be solved as son as posible.
- Summary:
ReplyDeleteThis medical condition happens when you have an excess of body fat that has been accumulated and always have a negative effect on health, you can be considered an obese when your body mass (BMI), a measurement obtained by dividing a person´s weight by the square of the person´s height I over 30 kg/m2, some countries in Asia use different measurements.

Alcohol use disorder or alcoholism is the name to problems controlling your drinking, being preoccupied with alcohol, continuing to use alcohol even when it causes problems, having to drink more to get the same effect, or having withdrawal symptoms when you rapidly decrease or stop drinking.
Unhealthy alcohol use includes any alcohol use that puts your health or safety at risk or causes other alcohol problems. It also includes binge drinking, a pattern of drinking where a male consumes five or more drinks within two hours or a female downs at least four drinks within two hours. Binge drinking causes significant health and safety risks.
If your pattern of drinking results in repeated significant distress and problems functioning in your daily life, you likely have alcohol use disorder. It can range from mild to severe. However, even a mild disorder can escalate and lead to serious problems, so early treatment is important.
in my opinion, I think that alcoholism is a serious problem that people mainly young people do not think it serious instead I think if it is as improper one of these substances to others that cause major health problems and also people while intoxicated can harm people they weren´t involved alcohol for example in a car accident

The obesity is consider as several medical disease, because it includes type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and certain types of cancer.
It has increase in the last 30 years, this is caused because our lifestyle, for example, we say we don’t have enough time for making exercise, another fact is our food, we are no longer eating healthy food
And this is a problem of all of us, because in Mexico for example the 56% of the population has overweigh, and its not only because of the adults, also the kids.
In 2012, just the 33% of the kids made some kind of exercise, while the other 74% of the kids, passed more than 3 hours per week, watching T.V
Your weight is the result of many things working together—the choices you make, your environment, your metabolism, and your genes.
Becoming obese doesn't happen overnight. Obesity happens over time when the energy we take in by eating is not in balance with the energy we burn from physical activity.
I think this is serious theme, because it affect us in our health,
Many people had died because of this disease, we have to change our actions, and been healthier, eat healthy food instead of junk, make exercise, and been more active, because many of the times, we can change if we want, we should choose to be healthier
In my opinion, obesity is a bad problem, and to have a better way of leaving, we need to imporve some of our habitts, inspire the kinds and teennagers to change the way of their body. Also, to make concious of all the junk food that is publish in the market, onky junt, fat, and cheap food, and people always go for the cheaper food. And in Mexico, like it said, 56 percent of the population suffers a problem of overweight, because of a bad feeding.

Obesity has become an epidemic and an important public health concern. Because the problem is multidimensional, the solution will require an interdisciplinary approach involving the cooperation of the food industry with other stakeholders, such as the government, academia, and health care providers. The consumer is an important player in the solution to obesity because the consumer can make healthy lifestyle choices at the individual level.
Mexico City like the rest of the country – is in the grip of an obesity crisis. While the reasons for this are far from black and white, close analysis suggests that a lack of physical activity could be the main contributing factor.
According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) (2009-2010), approximately 69% of adults are overweight or obese.Children have become heavier as well. In the past 30 years, the prevalence of childhood obesity has more than doubled among children ages 2 to 5.
In my opinion obesity affects everyone, for several reasons such as the way people eat and do not exercise, for me the only solution is to correct our eating habits and do sports three times a week and should be added that we must also consume water.

There is no single or simple solution to the obesity epidemic. It’s a complex problem. There are several ways state and local organizations can create a supportive environment to promote healthy living behaviors that prevent obesity.
State and Local Programs.
Resources are available to help disseminate consistent public health recommendations. Knowing your body mass index (BMI), achieving and maintaining a healthy weight you can take for yourself to combat obesity.
Community Efforts.
To reverse the obesity epidemic, should focus on supporting healthy eating and active living in a variety of settings.
Healthy Living.
The key it's about a lifestyle that includes healthy eating and regular physical activity.
Healthy Weight.
A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness.
Eating habits are a key factor for a healthy weight.
Physical Activity.
Physical activity is important for health and a healthy weight.
In my opinion, I think that diets are sometimes not the best option, because most people do not want to leave their bad habits the way they eat and all they do is stop eating and stop eating is going to cause more harm than their bad habits.
So I think that the best option is to exercise.

In addition unhealthy food is used to be close at hand, it is common to see shops full of sodas, chips, breads and sweet products, where children can easily acces to them and if they are not teached to have a control about their consumption of that sort of things and if they are not used to do some excercise in order to burn the calories consumed, they can easily become a person with obesity problems.

I think the information is so complete but I prefer know how prever this addiction, because is a growing problem and I think like member of society we need to do something to not continue to increase this activity or help our family ( in case that you have a alcoholic in your house) but i think the alcoholism is one of the worse diseases because you can be dying without knowing.

I think about obesity in the same way as my partner, obesity is a problem of education, if you do not teach children from a young age that being obese is bad, and they should do more exercise, they may have problems in the future.
Young children need to know that the obesity is not a game, they need to understand what happen if they dont have health in their lifes.

Alcoholism
In my opinion alcoholism is a serious problem that has it young people and adults today. It has many bad consequences but I suppose that people are not informed about them. Many young people of my age are victims of this problem and it´s often because their parents allow their sons to drink alcohol. My classmate Emilio says: “Some people have the wrong idea that you can't help an alcoholic.” and I agree with it, I’m sure we can help a person with this problem.

Obesity
In Her summary she writes about the causes of what make you obese, how to know if you suffer this problem, the healt consequences that it has, and the ranking of the places in the world which have more people that are obese, and in my opinion her opinion is right I agree with her because of you live in a family which is obese and don't care about of the food the eat you have more probability of being obese so I think people should reconsider because their healt could be affected.

I agree with Jacobo, that this information helps us to know what is obesity, how to treat it and its main treatment for obesity, it is important that we know what it is and how to avoid it and so some people may take this into account so they can care. I think Jacobo did a good summary as it explains exactly the main theme.
